TEMECULA, CA – JULY 16, 2010 – The results are in from the California State Fair Wine Competition and South Coast Winery continues to top the charts, ranking among other stellar leaders in the wine industry.

While the Robert Hall Winery of Paso Robles took the Golden Bear award to the Paso Robles region this year for its 5 Best of Class, 3 Gold and 7 Silver Medals, South Coast Winery still left the California State Fair Wine Competition celebrating its BIG win earning 56 medals, including 15 Best of Class, 8 Gold, 19 Silver and 14 Bronze medals – taking home more medals than any other winery at this year's competition.

From vine to shelf, South Coast Winery has always placed quality ahead of quantity.  With 60 of its wines earning 285 awards and medals so far in 2010 from both regional and international wine competitions, there is little doubt in anybody's mind that Jim Carter is meeting his dream and is continuing to push South Coast Winery and Southern California Temecula Valley Wine Country forward as a quality wine producing region.

Always the visionary, Jim Carter set out to create the finest vineyards that would produce the greatest wines, however, that’s not all Carter found himself particularly good at.  The resort side of the South Coast enterprise completes the wine country experience and has earned high rankings on the internet’s top travel sites, including Expedia and Trip Advisor.   “The blending of nature, fine wine, fine food, and elegant comforts, presented to guests with gracious hospitality” is taken from the organization’s Vision Statement.  Says Carter, “South Coast Winery understands the important role it plays in helping raise the level of awareness in the domestic and international circles about the high quality wines being produced in the Southern California Temecula Valley Wine Region and takes this job seriously.”
South Coast Winery produces a broad portfolio of premium wines that are 100% grown and produced with care under his tutelage in Southern California's up and coming Temecula Valley Wine Country.  Over the course of the first five years of its production, the winery has received over 950 awards and medals from both regional and international wine competitions.   The winery graces the grounds of South Coast Winery Resort & Spa, a 38-acre destination property located in the heart of Temecula’s Wine Country at 34843 Rancho California Road, Temecula, California and also has a wine-country themed restaurant and tasting room in the heart of Orange County California, and both can be found online at
